About the Role
This is a high-leverage role for a builder who wants to own the financial and strategic evolution in an emerging setting. You will be expected to develop the Strategic Finance function from the ground up during this critical growth phase.
Your mandate is broad and cross-functional. You will pursue and own strategic initiatives that define our business model, with a relentless focus on being data-first and AI-native. This means you don't just analyze outcomes—you leverage AI to create real, scalable, and repeatable financial workflows that didn't exist before.
You will spearhead our Corporate Development muscle and play an active, lead role in our Capital Markets activities across both debt and equity. You will have the autonomy to identify opportunities, own the execution, and build the "connective tissue" between our global operations and our long-term value creation.
Key responsibilities
Strategic Initiative Ownership: Lead cross-functional projects that evolve our business model. You won’t just report on the business; you will develop it, ensuring every initiative is scalable, repeatable, and leverages our AI-native capabilities.
Capital Markets & Corporate Development: Play a lead role in our equity and debt fundraising activities. You will also build out our M&A and corporate development function, identifying and executing on opportunities that accelerate our roadmap.
AI-Native Financial Operations: Move beyond manual spreadsheets. You will aggressively leverage AI to automate workflows and build the finance function of the future—one that moves at the speed of our platform.
Strategic Partnering: Act as a high-level partner to the leadership team, providing the analytical leverage and "investigative rigor" needed to make high-stakes decisions across product, tax, returns, and demand planning.
Data-First Growth: Model complex economics (usage-based pricing, cross-border flows, etc.) and reconcile "messy" data into a single source of truth that the company can act on with confidence.
Build the Muscle: As a Director, you aren't just an individual contributor; you are responsible for building the processes, team culture, and frameworks that will allow Swap to scale globally.

The Seniority to Lead, the Grit to Do: You’ve seen "what good looks like" at scale, but you aren’t too proud to get your hands dirty in the chaos of a growing startup.
Capital Markets Experience: You have experience of participating in or leading debt and equity transactions. You understand the nuances of fundraising and investor relations.
AI Proficiency: You don’t just use AI as a novelty; it is a core part of your workflow. You are the person who automates the tedious parts of the job before anyone asks, and you understand how AI translates into real business outcomes.
Extreme Ownership: You don’t wait for a brief. When data is incomplete or a process is broken, you lean in and figure it out. You thrive in low-structure environments and have a "builder" instinct.
Exceptional Modeler & Analyst: You can build a complex financial model from a blank sheet and translate technical or operational concepts into clear financial impact.
Shared Ownership Mindset: You value clarity and creativity. You are hungry, not entitled, and you measure your success by the impact you have on the business and the team.
